Hot as hell today, thus the 3  fans.

A week ago tomorrow, I passed the technician exam for the ham radio license.  I don't have my call sign yet, so I can't  transmit, though the dearly beloved bought use his and her handheld transcievers  on the way home from the exam.  I've been having fun playing with it.

I've checked the FCC website a couple of times for my call sign.  It's too soon.  Maybe by next weekend.

That I passed the code test is not a statement about my skill with Morse code, but to the standards of the test.  I passed only because I got 27 characters in a row correct (minimum is 25).  Even the examiner told me I needed to work on code.  Um, yes.  Now whether I will ever use it is another story.

Fourth of July picnic on Monday, fireworks show provided at a local high school that we can watch from the dearly beloved's back yard.  A tradition.

Looking foward to it.
